Dr. Nichols graduated with a B.S. in Natural Sciences from UAB in 1974, and from UAB School of Dentistry in 1977. He went on to get his Certificate in Periodontics from UAB in 1979, the same year he opened his own periodontal practice in Decatur, Alabama. Dr. Nichols has been with Midfield Dental Center since 2001.

Dr. Nichols has been married for over 40 years and has two children: his daughter holds a Master’s degree in Education, and his son works as a chef after earning a degree from UAB in finance and economics. When he’s not practicing dentistry or spending time with his family, Dr. Nichols enjoys raising his own Devon grass-fed beef.
